Features

· Weaker Magnetism: Remains largely non-magnetic (much weaker magnetic response than 304 after cold working).
· Higher Cost: Typically costs 1.5 to 2 times more than 304 due to the rare metal content.

316 is the “special forces” choice—you pay a premium for the Molybdenum to guarantee absolute peace of mind in the harshest environments.

Choose 316 if: Your enclosure will be permanently exposed to coastal/offshore air, road de-icing salts, chlorinated water, or aggressive chemical solvents. 304 will develop rust spots within a few years in these conditions.
